I just found the entire film so false, so lazy, so episodic, so devoid of any sympathetic characters - and so bloody irritating. Kept looking at my watch every 5 mins!Raybeardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12424095016313843883noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-177225541748552284.post-3495990460150992612009-12-24T08:34:25.249+00:002009-12-24T08:34:25.249+00:00p.s.

It's probably more like a 3/10!Stephen Chapmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05856125636247364096noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-177225541748552284.post-9296925278830078222009-12-24T08:33:32.721+00:002009-12-24T08:33:32.721+00:00Carry On Screaming is great - partly because it is...Carry On Screaming is great - partly because it is so different from the other films. But I'd agree with you about 'The Boat that Rocked' though I think your rating was rather generous. (I score films in a 'register' after I've seen them, though I only include films seen in the cinema.) I gave 'Boat' a rating of 1.5/10, the lowest rated film of any film I saw in 2008.
Sorry you don't care for D.D-Lewis. I think he's an absolutely phenomenal actor, but it would be boring if we all shared the same tastes. [Piece of trivia - When I lived in Oxford my next-door flat neighbour was DDL's former headmaster. - Wow, eh? ;-) ]
My own favourite 'Carry On' has always been 'Camping' - The whole gang's there and that makes it feel so 'cosy' - though at that time we weren't aware of the fierce bickerings and rivalries between the cast members. When it first came out there were queues right round the cinema block to see it. Hardly seems believeable now.
'Cowboys and Angels' sounds interesting. Must look out for it.
Could write LOTS more, but 'nuff for now. Will look out with keen interest for your future postings especially re films. Cheers, pal.Raybeardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12424095016313843883noreply@blogger.com
