Yoinked from Andrew's site, Votematch has been designed for UK voters who aren't quite sure who they should be voting for on May 6th. Voting is an important right and although the system can favour abstaining (in safe seats for example where votes can be seen as wasted), anything that can promote casting a vote has to be a good thing to improve on the 61% turnout at the last election.
Votematch has been designed to match individuals views to political parties. You can answer some simple policy questions and highlight the main areas that are important/not important to you here.
My result surprised me a little.
That was a most interesting exercise. There are only two parties I would seriously consider voting for - They came out on top in my results, but in reverse order of my expectations. Btw I've voted not just in every General Election since 1966 (bar one when I was abroad) but every single Local Council and European Election too. If one doesn't bother to vote one can hardly complain!
ReplyDeleteI came out as I expected, for the Lib Dems who I vote for anyway but it was a close run thing with the Greens.
ReplyDeleteInteresting that. Mine came out Lab, Green, Lib, Tory. I'm afraid the tactical vote is going to come into play in my case as I think the Lib Dems may be able to beat my local Tory MP (Daniel Kawzynski). He's an utter plank, and despite my politics I really don't say that about all Tories, he's just an exceptionally bad MP
ReplyDeleteI hope the new government clamps down on such blatent theft!
ReplyDeleteYoinking is NOT theft, it's a form of borrowing and how much free promotion do you want?!?!?
ReplyDeleteOK, I take it back and thank you graciously. :-)
