I caught this clip on Youtube and it's scary! The island of Saint Martin is quite small, so the runway had to fit in where it could - so planes touch down almost on the beach. This clip may look like the pilot made an error, but the landing is correct and all controlled by computer. Take a look at this image too.

ReplyDeleteI'm a bit of a plane geek, I think I'd like a holiday there, getting close and watching them land and take off, whilst working on my tan. But that other photo, wooooow how close do those wheels seem to that fence. Not much room for error or turning off the ILS a tad too early!
