There have been some terrible photoshop images of Zac naked on the net this week. The gay boys on Twitter got all excited - but you believed the images, you really needed glasses. However, I always get a spike in reader numbers when naked Zac is all over the 'net - all because of this posting.

Zac Efron naked... still

I had a leap in reader numbers on my blog at the weekend, all due to the phrase I commented on in May - "Zac Efron naked".  It appears that, after a little investigation, the two words "zac efron's" were trending on Twitter on Saturday due to an image that had been posted somewhere.  The unedited version of a photoshopped image (see polite version below) is all over the web and it's an expert job. I have few doubts that it's a fake... he's bigger than that (in my mind anyway)!

It's strange how people find my blog.  A few dozen people found it by typing the words "zac efron naked" into Google.  My blog may has featured Mr Efron in the past, but not naked... unfortunately.  And such searches certainly don't contain real images!

The top 5 searches that brought me readers so far this year were:

Best gay films / Top gay films / best gay movies

The Mondrian one confuses me.  I had one blog entry mention Mondrian as a favourite artist and lots of people come by (though not that many click on other pages).  The really obscure ones also make me wonder how Google really works.

As for the other topics, I suppose that I should be surprised that Fernando Torres doesn't feature!

Return of the Zac

It's been far too long that I shared some gratuitous images of Zac Efron... yes, this is the cultural section of my blog!

West end and beyond

On Saturday morning at 8.15, Pete and I set off for a day in London.  We hadn't intended going that early, but we were awake and decided to get the 8.30 train.

After a coffee at St Pancras station (worth a visit in its own right), we went to the Magnificent Maps exhibition at the British Library as it is ending soon.  It is a fascinating exhibition with maps from all over the world, some 500 years old.  Once finished there, we looked at the Magna Carta and original lyrics by Lennon and McCartney.  Both worthy inclusions at the British Library I am sure!

I noted a creased poster for Wonderland magazine featuring Zac Efron on the cover.  I swear that he is getting sexier as he gets older.

After that we got a bus to Oxford street for a very quick look in some specific shops then another bus to Sloane Square. We ambled down the King's Road, taking in the new Saatchi Gallery (that must have cost millions to set up).  Pete was particularly impressed by the 'Cher Guevara' image. 

After the trendy shops and Conran restaurant is a cafe called the Mona Lisa.  Pete and I have been there many times, though I haven't been for a while.  It's a clever cafe that transforms itself from 'greasy spoon' to value-for-money restaurant during the day.  Before Chelsea home games, you cant get a table but today just had local posh types and possibly the most camp guy I have ever seen, who Pete found very annoying.

I tried an app on my new iphone that has a stock of old photographs that you can use to compare to the current buildings and street layout using the GPS system.  It sort of worked, but I didn't get a good overlapping image to share with you.

We had a look around the posh charity shops before heading back to the west end via St James's park, Jermyn Street and Fopp in Covent Garden.  We sat in the sunshine with a coffee for quite a while before walking slowly to Kings Cross for a train home.  We arrived back exhausted around 8pm.

Although there were plenty of people around, the areas we visited didn't seem as busy as you would expect and the traffic was also flowing well.  Strange.

One final thing. Some place and road names in London are interesting with their own convoluted history.  One that I have seen a number of times and never considered is the street called Petty France.

I have found out that, during the 15th century a load of French traders would visit London and camp in the fields that are now the streets next to St James's Park.  The area was so packed with French people that it became known as Little France or... Petit France.  A corruption over time has meant that SW1 features a street called Petty France.

Family BBQ

Pete and I spent the weekend in Kent at my parents for a full family barbecue.  The family ravelled from far and wide for lots of food and much too much drink.  I'm not sure where the various kids get the energy.  Here's a picture I took this morning whilst eating a fry-up.

Thanks to those that took part in the last Five On The Fifth.  There were some excellent and interesting images posted to the various blogs.  I appreciate that holidays and the 5th falling on a Thursday meant that numbers were down a bit.  I do need to carry out some promotion however. Some light heared stuff after the heavy last posting...

Watching TV and films in the last week and a couple of guys almost jumped out of the screen at me, so here are a couple of random pictures, yoinked from the net for your viewing pleasure. If you are a straight male, then focus on their acting skills!

1. Not my usual totty, but he's the fit and tall Takeshi Kaneshiro from The House of flying daggers.

2. There's a new comedy on the BBC called Miranda that is silly and funny and co-stars Tom Ellis who, in the programme, doesn't seem know how to shave.

3. OK, not quite an actor as this ones a porn star called James Nichols (though who knows what his real name is) - but he's gorgeous and I saw him on a screen!

4. I know Zac Efron is an obvious choice, but in 17 Again, he is very hot and the film is not as bad as I thought it might be!

Some light gay relief

Although I have never seen High School Musical and never will, but I thought some of the stories about Zac Efron (see previous blog entry) have been quite witty - one headline in particular made me laugh:

Gay Men And 13-Year-Old Girls Unite In Protest Against Cut Zac Efron Shower Scene

A scene was cut from the film which sees Zac practising some moves. Dance moves I assume. For some reason, the producers felt that the scenes were a little too much for a teen film. One reviewer thought that the scene alone could change the rating! After seeing some of the pics, all I can say is.... Shame!

Big gay blog - The ugly ducklings

It's about time I posted another gay blog entry (i.e. an excuse to include some pictures of cute guys) so here's my take on the ugly duckling story. Take a couple of nerds and see how they have grown in such a short time...

Leon Jackson won the UK X-Factor Karaoke competition in 2007 and what a dorky looking guy he was back then!

The X Factor is a programme that I don't watch and I think it's made to appeal to people who don't have brains.

Anyway, his winning song and number 1 hit was an awful piece of dross called When you believe which failed to use his voice well at all. A year later and, to my great surprise, has a great new song and even better new image!

Another TV programme I have never seen is High School Musical starring Zac Efron. 21 year old Zac has also developed well and I think could be a big star if he plays some more mature roles. He's a bit old to be playing a schoolkid now and should show us he can actually act.

He also looks rather good here.

So when and how did these two guys become rather nice?! There could be stylists at work I think.
